Matt Fox

Matt Fox is a New Orleans-based architect whose work is deeply influenced by the city’s rich architectural heritage and vibrant cultural landscape. Building his career in New Orleans has given Matt a profound appreciation for the relationship between history, community, and the built environment. This connection fuels his passion for creating meaningful spaces that reflect the spirit of the Gulf South.

After earning both his Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees from Tulane University, Matt spent over a decade working with Michael Carbine, where he refined his design and project management skills and enhanced his appreciation of historic home renovations, restorations and additions.  In 2014, he founded M. Fox Design to offer architecture that is both highly personal and rooted in place.

New Orleans’ layered architectural history—its Creole cottages, shotgun homes, and storied neighborhoods—continues to shape Matt’s design philosophy. With a strong focus on historic renovation, he is committed to preserving the character of existing structures while thoughtfully adapting them for modern living.

Matt’s work is known for its clean lines, craftsmanship, and contextual sensitivity. Whether restoring a historic home, designing a new build, or reimagining a commercial space, he brings clarity, creativity, and collaboration to every project—ensuring the result is a true reflection of its setting and the people it serves.
